Canadian employers want people with good Employability Skills. The New Brunswick Youth Career Connections Program answers this call.
Students are chosen to become Career Connectors by an employer through a spring job competition. Chosen students agree to complete approximately 50 hours of professional employability skills workshops (completed outside of regular school time) and a minimum of 180 hours of paid work experience. The workshops are presented by volunteers from the business or educational community who have an expertise or background in a subject area of the prescribed Youth Career Connections curriculum. The workshops encompass the Conference Board of Canada's Employability Skills 2000+ Profile and the Federal Government Essential Skills.
