The New Brunswick Youth Career Connections Program provides youth with an opportunity to experience the "world of work" and expand their knowledge of essential employability skills as outlined by the Conference Board of Canada.
This web site contains general information about the program in New Brunswick, and provides position, application, and contact information to students in school districts 6 & 8.
On the evening of December 8th, students of School Districts 6, 8 and 17 , parents and invited guests gathered at the Riverside County Club to celebrate the students' commitment, hard work, growth, development and success during the Dining Etiquette workshop and Graduation ceremonies. Not only did everyone enjoy a delicious meal, but Chef MacDonald walked everyone through the proper way to act and dine in a formal atmosphere. With parents attending, they had a great opportunity to learn alongside their son/daughter and experience first hand what the students have been exposed to over the last few months.
For many years, Investors Group has sponsored the event, and we were again pleased to have them support the NBYCC program. Mark Toner, Division Director along with several Investors representatives joined us for the evening. Our students hosts were Adrienne McNair and Mike Forestell and opening and closing remarks were given by School District 6 Superintendent, Zoe Watson and School District 8, Superintendent Susan Tipper respectively.
Certificates of completion along with a comprehensive Record of Achievement were presented to the students by coordinators Lynn MacDonald, Joan Wilkins and Ellen Pottle. We wish the students continued success as they continue their journey along their career path. Congratulations!
